If you have never sat at a wheel before, this session is built for you. We start with wedging the clay, practise centring, then move on to pulling walls.
Everyone gets their own wheel and the tutor moves between four to eight people. By the end you will have thrown at least two pieces and chosen the best one to fire.
Finished pieces are glazed and fired after drying; you can collect them from the studio around three weeks later or have them couriered to you.

A small Yousef Abad studio with four wheels and its own kiln. Classes are capped at eight so everyone gets real time at the wheel.

I expected it to be hard, but the tutor was genuinely patient. Three hours felt like twenty minutes.

Small group and real one-to-one attention. I picked up my cup the same month.

Lovely experience; I only wish we had more time on the glazing step.
